I added a snug piercing to my right ear this weekend, after deciding it would look better than an antitragus. Did it myself, 12 ga iv catheter, 14 ga CBR (10 mm diameter). It bled very nicely, dripping off my earlobe, into the sink. Amazing how far the droplets spread . Compared to the lobe and helix piercing that I did on myself, this one was rather, uh... intense (insert cursing here). And I swear if I'm going to dermal punch my old (gunned) helix piercing, I'm going to use injectable lidocaine so that I can do it in a completely relaxed manner . Besides, it will be a surgical procedure (removal of scar tissue), not a piercing. So there .

Sorry, no picture yet, I thought pressing the new piercing on the scanner might be a bad idea

Every time I think I'm seriously demented, somebody's post reassures me that I'm not THAT far off the rails. I'm going to try keep my DIY tongue this time, re-done Saturday, reasonable placement. You should really try it in front of an audience, squicking people is like 90% of the fun - I was doubled up with laughter while I still had the needle through my tongue.

LOL. Sometimes I think vet school just does that to you. You have fun splitting head- sized abscesses that contain a gallon of pus, you like to stick your arm into cow rectums in winter because it's warm in there... piercing oneself seems pretty harmless =).

I imagine this being even more awkward than a DIY snug

My husband was squicked enough when he saw the fresh piercing. And he felt actual pain when he accidentally bumped my ear later =).

Only if they're in heat I guess. They can clamp their sphincter around your arm rather painfully when they want your arm out .
