haveing had and rejected an eyebrow, and haveing read many posts on rab, like the dreaded bactine barrage disscussion of times past(aaiiiieee!), My only suggestion would be hot sea salt soaks. someone will probably correct me, but near as I can remember it's 1 TBL spoon of sea salt per 8 ounces of hot water. though a bit of a pain in the ass and difficult to do without spilling all over yourself, fill a cup and immerse the actual piercing in this mixture. Let it soak for 6-10 minutes, twice daily. I don't know the exact scientific data, but from some discussion i read a while back I learned that betadine is a no-no for healing and can actually impede the healing process. I may be wrong, and as such, if I am, i expect to be corrected.( Maybe Keith A. will breeze this and give us the exact scientific data) My advice is to do the sea salt soaks x2 a day, and clean with softsoap and a q-tip lightly in the shower. Remeber, overcleaning can hurt you too!

I've never let neosporin, vaseline, or peroxide near any of my piercings. Don't remove the piercing while it's infected. Mine got really infected a lot and eventually I just took them out when they weren't bein' grumpy. It wasn't worth the fuss.

s/he doesn't need to take it out. just stop destroying it with peroxide & neosporin. neither are any good for healing piercings.
by the way, only rarely (if ever) is 'let it heal up & redo it' a good method for eradicating infection.

last i heard, betadyne was much too strong for piercing aftercare. if you use bactine, water it down 1:1. plain old soap or simple saltwater is the best. & the cheapest.

you can also half-soak a cotton ball. it's then enough to soak the piercing but not to spill all over yourself.

keith hates all products for this purpose except soap & saltwater iirc.
