Hi all,

I've had my earlobes pierced for a long time. I don't wear earrings anymore, and I hate the idea that I still have the holes. Is there something I could do to get them to close? I haven't worn earrings for 3 years or more, but the holes are still there.

you could abrade the holes on the inside, but you'd still wind up with dots where they were. plastic surgery is probably your best bet, but is it really worth it? they're just, what, 22ga holes at this point?

Yeah; they're not very noticeable. It's just that I no longer wear earrings, and don't see the point of having holes in my ears anymore. How would one abrade the holes on the inside, anyway?

Larisa Migachyov sends:

I wouldn't worry about it.

Plastic surgeons can unpierce your ears. Not cheap, but the option's there.

You could always use a little dot of concealer to cover the holes if you just don't want them to be visible at all and don't mind making up your

carefully?

i'm not really sure, with holes that tiny. check a hardware store & try to find tiny round files... you know, like the ones you used in tenth grade shop class. clean as well as possible & go at it.

but if it's just that you don't see the point of having holes, does it matter so much that they HAVE to be closed? you'd be better off just accepting that you used to wear jewelry & have now grown past that.

(not to imply anyone should or will 'grow past' jewelry; just that larisa has.)

A friend of mine tshowed me her old gunned ear holes today. She says they haven't closed over years, adn they look really ugly, like irregular and scarred <insert shudder here> - she's now gone back to wearing earrings because the holes are so ugly.
