Oh the sweet aroma of burnt flesh, of the music of the 'sizzle and pop' and the sensation of intensely hot metal upon virgin skin.  Yes, I got my second branding last night.  It was an experience that will never be forgotten.  It's larger than my first one as it's 2 ring bands (damn, I have so many bands on my arms I wonder what that could mean?  Hmmmmm, cause I like them?) with i design going also around.  It's also on my fore arm which makes it my most visible mod which is going to make certain aspects of my life much more interesting.  I don't know how many strikes it took

first, congrats on the new mod!

very interesting indeed. i think that a lot of our pain avoidance tendencies are a result of what society teaches us. from day one, we're taught that pain is bad. however, sometimes in nature you can see that animals will do things that are painful for the greater good, i.e. gnawing off a leg to escape being trapped. how many humans do you think would act in the same way? not many, i'm guessing. of course in this case the good that's being reaped is aesthetic which seems to be more of a concern for us humans than for other animals. but there are a few of us, i think, who see past what society teaches us about pain, and for that i am glad.
