my toung ring helllppp meee please

Hello i have a toung ring, i have had it for about 8 months i have always been at 14 gage and over the last 3 months some skin has been growing on the top and its growing up my bar...i kinda forgot about it and today i took my bar off to put on a new ball well i knowdest the skin has grown alot more then i thoght.... its the same size as my ball....i am really scared it will stay that way....should i go to a 12 or 10? or take it out and will it heal? i just want my toung to look some what normal insted of having a big white thing on top of my thoung that looks very scary and if i saw a chick with it on her toulng i dont think i would want to kiss her. lol pllleeease
