Again a question on my new tattoo, please be patient but i've found no answer to that browsin' da net. I've quit training since my tattoo's day one, now a week has passsed and i would like to have my usual workout (something very intense and aerobic such as boxing), i was strongly discouraged by my artist since he told me sweat comin out of skin pores may carry out with him some ink and bleed the tattoo (sound quite unrealistic), also, he told me that sweat could get trapped under the oily layer made of the products used to protect a new tattoo and form blisters which could lead to infection (more realistic, but showers were invented for this very reason i believe). Now, at day seven, can i go training and sweat like mad without having to be worried about my li'l backpiece? As a general rule is it possible to workout and sweat (obviously according to the part where tattoo is placed) since day one? Thanks in advance

Best Regards

As long as you shower afterwards and don't use your tattoo for target practice, it should be okay. Sweating won't do anything. It's getting it smakced if it isn't fully healed that could do some damage.

As a general rule, I try to refrain from extra movement/flexing in the area of a tattoo until it stops shedding, and then just make sure it stayed well moisturized until fully healed.

You will have to weigh the risks yourself and decide.

There is always a possibility that something could go outrageously, horribly wrong, but just take precautions, use your common sense and listen to your body.

Good luck.
