I taped it!!!! i just finished watching it, and i am still in shock. I thought for sure oprah was gonna make it into a 'piercing and tatoos are bad' show, not at all though! oprah as usual sat back and was just her normal self. Dr Phil was great though! his basic message was not to judge people for what they look like on the outside, that they can still be productive people. And for those parents to not bitch at their kids cause they want to decorate themselves, that they should love them regardless of what they choose to look at and not make nasty comments to them. It was over all a really good show, if anyone wants to borrow the tape email me and i will mail it to you

Between his misspelling of 'Oprah,' and yours of 'singing,' my mind didn't register when I thought I read 'subtleties.'

In retrospect, that makes it funnier to me.

Heheh...

Bit O' Trivia: Oprah's mother named her after the little-known Biblical character 'Orpah,' but misspelled her name. I forgot which book she appears in, but it's in the goddamn Pentateuch if you're wondering.

My brother had a friend in high school whose name was supposed to be Samantha, but the doctor misspelled it 'Smatha' on the birth certificate. He was going to charge them to change it, so they left it alone. Smatha. The doctor had to have been on crack.

There's a character in a Toni Morrison novel who names her child by opening the Bible and picking a word that looks pretty. 'Pilates,' if I recall correctly.

And of course, there are numerous variations of an old urban legend about the little girl named 'Female' (feh-MALL-ee)

I used to do theatre (shuddup, bitchasses) with a woman named 'tasitha' because her mother couldnt read her great great great grandmother's letter 'b' in a manuscript she wrote.

Her mother was pretty dumb.
