First let me say I am new to the group and like I have already read the faq but I was wondering about something. I want to use my own personal image for my tattoo. Can this be done. If so how. The biggest question does this cost a lot more than if I just picked one out at the palor. Thanks in advance for the

yes, you certainly can do that. (the prevailing opinion around here is that it's 'better' to do that than to just get a ready-made design from the artist's wall.) it's what's referred to as 'custom' rather than 'flash' tattooing. (flash are the designs they hang up on the wall in the tattoo parlor.) how much it costs depends on how big & how intricate your design is. flash usually comes with standard prices, but for custom work you normally get charged by the hour. ask around at tattoo shops in your area

Well, Everything I have is my own art, of course it was redrawn by the artist so it would work on my body, but other than that, it should be ok. Jut some shops seem to be better at it than others. In my

Yes.

Put it in their hand. Say 'I want this.' If they say ok, you are in!! Note that some images are not suitable for tattooing. If one artist says they cannot do it, shop it around a bit. If many say no, you are probably out of luck.

A majority of artists charge by the hour, not the image. The biggest question _should_ be can you afford the best artist in your area right now, or do you have to save some money.

Welcome.

I work in a tattoo shop in Dallas and yes they can do it but like everyone else said if the drawing is right for your body if an artist says no cause of the lines etc. and one says yes question it cause some artist will do it anyway and your tattoo will look like shit.. I would research your studios before I settle with one anyway.. As far as money if that is what you want then save your money and do it right it will cost more to remove it than put it there..

any good tattooist should have no problem putting your design on skin, be open to suggestion though as tattooing is sometimes a limiting for (size, etc.) so sometimes sligh changes may be made. ALWAYS look at an artist's portfolio before getting under the needle albert jeffers www.acidbaby.com
