Hello everybody I have a some questions that I was wondering about. The FAQ says that only fully healed piercing should be stretched. Ok, when is a piercing full healed? I have had my Pa since 12/30/99, I have not had any problems and was wondering about when I could stretch my PA form a 8 to a 6 gage. I am thinking about a new tat and was wondering if any diabetics had any trouble getting tats? I am afraid that the new tat will not heal well. I am non insulin dependent and well controlled. I want a dagger on the right side of my neck. Any Way Thanks for the info

duram wrote 8 to a 6 gage.
you should probably be fine. use lube and do it after a warm shower. or have your piercer do it.

Opinion only.
YMMV - it's healed when it's healed, between is anybody's guess. While a piercing can probably be stretched at any point, if there is any doubt about it being fully healed/atraumatically stretchable then it is probably preferable to treat the stretching as a sterile/aseptic procedure, rather then a DIY attempt, and be prepared to re-heal in a worst case scenario.
Suggest you discuss with your doctor during a routine visit. If there are issues that he/she feels that may be relevent (both general and unique to you), then these issues can be discussed with your tattoo artist if necessary.
