It's like a downward spiral - I came here looking for tattoo information. Got that, kept reading. Hit a few webpages. Realized 'Hey, I've always liked tongue piercings...' and 'Hmm...y'know my earlobes are pretty thick...bet I could stretch them out a ways...'

Anyone else find themselves planning one simple thing and getting drawn in?

Not as much as that But I do remember that my second thought as I was getting my tattoo (right after my first thought of 'oh, my god, what have I done?) was 'cool! what can I get next?!'

yup. I must admit that I have not really been interested in piercing before I got my nostril pierced (hey, and I didn't really consider the nostril thing a 'piercing', it's become little more special than a usual gunned lobe). But as soon as I had that metal in my nose, I started really getting into it (like actually reading RAB... ). Since then I've had my left nipple pierced and the labrum will be next. It's a bit different with tattoos, I've always been interested in & fascinated by them, and am still planning my first one. But I won't exclude the possibility of being 'drawn in' there as well. But why on earth should this be like a 'downward spiral'? In terms of my wellbeing and my feelings towards my body (ie. myself), for me it is very much an 'upward' way.

Definitely. I first found BME about three years ago just looking for tattoo information. I expanded my exploration into piercing, and here I am with two lobe piercings, a PA, and planning a frenum ladder, along with a navel project, nipples, and some ear cartilage. Plus the ink that I have now and have been planning for at least 5 years. Patrick

Or how about after you get it done and think 'I gotta post my experience on RAB and BME as soon as possible!' I luv it! I'm jonesing right now to go get my nipple redone.
